LSU System President John Lombardi will be ousted on Friday, a member of the system's governing board tells The Associated Press.
The Board of Supervisors will vote on removing Lombardi, according to a board member who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because action against Lombardi had not yet been taken.
Separately, board member Alvin Kimble, a Lombardi supporter, told The Advocate newspaper that pressure from Gov. Bobby Jindal's administration is behind Lombardi's removal.
An item on the agenda for Friday's board meeting lists discussion of ``presidential succession planning.'' Lombardi has refused to comment.
Lombardi was hired in 2007. His tenure has been marked with budget struggles and management disputes.
